Online and Open Learning has led us to transform teaching, the theme of Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts and other powerful web tools for the classroom, created by Will Richardson. I have been led to integrate the concepts suggested by the constructivist learning theory in an open and online learning environment. As I noted on Zaria's blog, my hope is that I will be able to cut through the prototypes and curriculum and school objectives as i introduce these important learning tools.
This week I spoke to many of my classmates on line including Zaria, Hugo, and Robert and responded to many of the discussions posted. I keep thinking that if Educational technology students within higher learning were allowed to plan the curriculum, there would be no need for teaching to the test. The curriculum would be flawless as students are guided to fulfill their individual learning needs.
This course has become a motiviating factor for me to complete the three KAMs, so that I will be able to complete this program quickly in the hopes of effectively practicing guiding students to a successful life in the digital age. Marcelle |

Hi Marcelle, I agree the tools we are using are very powerful and can be used to improve teaching and learning. This is the first class I have had online where I was able to "speak" to another student and it is a great retention tool. In higher education many students appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the goals and objectives of a course and open learning is a good solution for individualized instruciton.

I agree with you in all of your points - especially the part about completing the three KAMs. I often struggle with the motivation necessary to complete the KAMs. I am almost finished with my first KAM.
It does appear that my 2nd and 3rd will be much more easier to complete however.

Marcelle, I love your Blog page. I too am more motivated to press forward. I first thought that having to post to the discussion board, MSN, and the blogs was too much to manage. However, it has taught me to utilize the tools that I am learning about and to be more concise in my postings. Z

Marcelle,
I agree with you that this course is a motivating factor to finish the program early to get to work using the new and exciting technology tools. Many of these tools I have heard of however, never implemented due to "not have enough time" to research and find out more. In addition, many of these tools will become (if not already) leading factors to a new and speedy way to teach and reach all student almost 24/7. I have become overly excited about next school year and what I hope to be able to present and utilize with my students in an effort to enhance their learning experience.
Great post!
